Curved Spine Junk Journal Tutorial | Summer Fairies Crafting Printables Kit

This video teaches you how to make a junk journal with a curved spine. It’s demonstrated with the printables of our “Summer Fairies” kit. Francesca from Junk Journal Joy made the tutorial.

TOOLS & MATERIALS USED

✂ scissors (or cutter/ruler)
✂ paper 160 g/m2  size A4
✂ journal pages without borders : 13,5 x 20,5 cm – 8 x 5 1/4 inch when fold in half, 6 signatures with 4 pages
✂ printer (Francesca has an Epson ecotank 2650 inkjet)
✂ glue (fabric tac or flash bond or tacky glue
✂ cotton thread, needle, and punch/awl for binding 
✂ 1 piece of cardboard from recycled boxes cm 4,5 x 20,5 cm – 8 x 1 3/4 inch
✂ 2 pieces of cardboard from recycled packaging 13,4 cm x 20,5 cm – 8 x 5 1/4 inch
✂ 1 piece of thick cardboard 12,8×20 cm + a piece of paper from the kit 11,4 x20,1 cm – 4 1/5 x 7 7/8 inch
✂ a piece of embossed handmade paper (optional)
✂ fabric for the cover 37×25 cm – 14 1/2 x 10 inch (note: use what you have, what you like instead, recycle old cloths etc. what’s make you happy!)
✂ 2 pieces of the same fabric 4,5 x 20,5 cm – 8 x 1 3/4 inch
✂ inside covers 7 7/8 x 5 1/8 inch – 20 x 13 cm (x2)
✂ paper roll cardboard (recycled from paper towels)
✂ distress ink (tea dye or in the same color palette of the kit) optional 
✂ sari silk for closure (optional) 
✂ cheesecloth (optional)
